As promised I’m bringing you my very first guest post written by David Edwards who I met at Alex Jeffrey’s Instant Profit Seminar.
This is the first in a series of guest posts from successful entrepreneurs that I intend to add over time.
David is a successful Internet Marketing Consultant who built a solid on-line business from scratch with just 500 pounds. He was also the original character designer of ‘Candy The Magic Dinosaur’ – the star of a viral animation (see video) and has a track record in search engine optimisation and driving traffic to websites. He’s also a pretty cool guy!
In this post he lays out some fair dinkum straight forward advice to help me stay focused on the end goal and some simple stratgies that I can use to grow my website.
From Dreamer To Producer
Hi there, I wanted to help out Nick and get a few more readers here at
“Instant Profit People”. I met Nick at the seminar in London this
month, we had a beer with some of the other marketers and I found out
that Nick flew all the way from Australia to meet the “Internet
Marketing Millionaire” Alex Jeffreys.
He said he’s been following Alex’s work for a while and was so
intrigued to learn more that he just had to get over to the UK. It was
a great seminar and I brought home about 5 pages of notes to
implement on my online business.
For Nick, the fact that he travelled across the world to get his
online business off the ground will give him that momentum for sure
over the next year!.
But the question is will Nick be a dreamer or a producer?…
I’m not having a pop at Nick but in 2008 I was in the same boat. The
internet has so much cool free content that it can be so easy for you
to forget that in order to be successful, you have to produce content
yourself not just read and consume other people’s content.
What changed for me is I now limit myself to 2 hours work a day. I’ll
have a look on the news in the morning and see what’s going on the
world, read 5 of my favourite blogs and then it’s just a matter of
connecting with marketers and affiliates behind the scenes on email
and phone calls (That’s where the business happens, off the website).
Sure I will have people waiting a couple of day’s sometimes for me to
reply to their emails, but it’s something that I learnt from Alex
Jeffreys is:
“Don’t Chase Money Let Money Chase You”
You have to make sure your online business is very simple, here’s
something else that I have learnt:
Build A Website ——-> Send Traffic To It ——–> Build Subscribers
For the first year online, that’s all I did. The best way to build
subscribers is to give away a free gift. This has been a great trick
for over a decade now. The classic is a PDF download which your
subscriber could use as a resource to help them get ahead online.
If your subscribers find your download helpful, they will save it and probably
open all your future emails!. Once you have this system in place you’re
ready to start marketing properly!…
